I have the black router that came with Sky ADSL which is woeful. I have tried to plug an Eero mesh system in and got precisely nowhere. So what I want to do is get a third party modem/router that can be put into bridge mode(?) and can also support DHCP option 61 (MER) so Sky can authenticate.
The Sky Q box disconnects constantly from the wifi, and then eventually won't reconnect - it sees the network, but can't connect to it. As this is not a Sky router, I believe the Sky Q box can't use the 5GHz network (and it doesn't see it anyway). You also can't change the wifi channel on the Sky Q box for the 2.4GHz network.

Fttp still supports sky mer in addition to dhcpv6 pd as a means of authentication but would advise making sure that it supports sky mer as a priority.

What I do find a problem though is how they include in their contract that you must use their provided crappy rebranded Sky Q Hub.
