The "universal head" - it isn't really called that. It is a vertical head, made by Porter Cable back in the day - I think it is the Mark II model. Look for the small oiling holes. If it is like mine, they will be all plugged up. I took mine apart enough to run a small wire through all the holes and clean all the gunk out of the innards.
