The Veritas grinder tool rest can be used with 150 mm (6 inch) or 200 mm (8 inch) utility bench grinders and many belt sanders/grinders. It mounts directly to the bench in front of the grinder and can be readily folded out of the way for freehand grinding. The 102 mm (4 inch) wide table straddles wheels up to 25.4 mm (1 inch) wide.
The toolrest and the grinding jig can be bought as separate items or, if preferred, as a pair with a useful cost saving. As always with Veritas products this jig is well thought-out and immaculately produced, and should prove to be of great use to the turner or general woodworker. .

OK, quick update. I have ditched the Veritas jig (blade holder) for now and used an old chisel to set the grinding stand to approx 25 then manually ground the blade slowly back to 25. I then used a 300 stone, 800 stone, 1000, 6000 and finally 8000 to bring it back to a secondary bevel of 30 degrees. All looks fine, very sharp now.
